Adrian & Adelaide | Aulani Disney Resort – Oahu, Hawaii Destination Wedding

Apr 28, 2017

Charissa Magno Photography,

Three years ago, Pat and I were photographing the gorgeous wedding of Chrisell & Alex in Hawaii. Little did we know, a few years later we’d be photographing the wedding of one of Alex’s groomsmen right back here on the breath-taking islands of Hawaii! For those who don’t know, I spent my childhood years growing up here on Oahu and still have family who live here in Hawaii so whenever we get the chance to photograph weddings on the islands, it’s always a very special treat.

Adrian and his beautiful bride, Adelaide (ps – I fell in love with that name the minute I heard it!) are from San Diego, California and planned the perfect destination wedding at Aulani Disney Resort on Oahu, Hawaii with over 100 of her friends and family members! They even surprised their guests with arranging a special Mickey and Minnie appearance during the reception – everyone loved it!! They had little Disney inspired details throughout the whole wedding. Some of my favorites were their matching Disney shoes at the reception, Adelaide’s charm that was pinned on the bouquet that read “Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust”, stunning Hawaiian florals, Mickey desserts and of course, a little Stitch (from Lilo and Stitch) poking his head out from the side of the cake. Too cute!! What a fun and perfect day. For those of us brides out there, we all know what a big task it is to plan a wedding. So I definitely commend these two for pulling off such a flawless wedding day, especially planning it from afar! Their wedding details were amazing, but more importantly – the whole day was full of love and laughter.

In my time getting to know Adrian and Adelaide, I knew that no matter what circumstances they were to face on their wedding day, it would be a joyful and unforgettable day. These two are constantly laughing with each other and you can’t help but smile every minute you’re around them. In fact, during our time photographing the bride and groom sunset portraits, I was having them do some romantic poses like I normally do. One of my favorites is when the groom sort of nuzzles in and whispers into the bride’s ear to make her smile. During this pose, Adelaide was cracking up and I was loving how adorable they looked in these shots! Then she burst out laughing and said that Adrian was whispering… “Rain Drop. Drop Top.” Hahaha!…if you know what song that is, you’ll understand why it was so funny. And from that moment, I knew that these two were not only the perfect pair for each other, but the perfect pair for Pat and I to work with. We love these two and are so thankful they have become friends! I hope you all enjoy some of our favorites from this fun Hawaii wedding!
