Oh, how I love weddings at Lake Oak Meadows!
This wedding venue is absolutely beautiful and I’m so happy we had perfect weather for Caressa & Kelly’s wedding day!! The week leading up to their wedding, I pulled up the weather forecast and unfortunately, it was expected to rain on their wedding day. When I spoke with Angela (their amazing wedding coordinator), she informed me of their backup plans in case it were to rain and I just knew Caressa was really, really hoping for good weather. I kept checking the forecast and praying it would clear up and sure enough, as the day came closer, the chances of rain went down. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised when I showed up to their wedding! Beautiful clear blue skies with a soft breeze. It couldn’t have been any more perfect!
Caressa & Kelly are the type of people who make you feel like you’ve been best friends with them forever, even if you just met them! As soon as I saw the sweet bride-to-be, she immediately gave me a huge hug and her smile just lit up the whole room (which by the way, was a lovely newly remodeled bridal suite!). Pat spent time photographing Kelly and the groomsmen before the ceremony and the day was off to a perfect start.
Caressa had 10 bridesmaids and Kelly had 9 groomsmen, so it was definitely a party! Sometimes, it can be a little tricky getting that large of a bridal party to take group photos but they were all so great and fun to work with. It made our job easy! (PS – thank you SO much to the bridal party members who were so sweet and helpful throughout the day!!). I just love those candid shots of the full group together.
There were so many beautiful and memorable moments from Caressa & Kelly’s wedding day. And many happy tears were shed! Some of my favorite moments captured were the first look (Kelly was just in awe of his beautiful bride – she looked INCREDIBLE!), the romantic portraits (the golden light was seriously unbelievable), the first dances (yup..more tears), and the toasts. Kelly’s brother brought old embarrassing photos to incorporate in his speech and had all the guests dying of laughter.
I really loved seeing these two showered with so much love, laughter and support throughout their entire day. As a wedding photographer, you get the honor and great responsibility of telling couple’s love story through your camera, even though you may have only known them a short while. Hearing about some of the obstacles these two have overcome within the last few years made me want to capture each moment as perfectly as I could for them, so they would never forget the happiness and joy they felt in that moment. Caressa & Kelly have such a huge heart for others and I’m so happy they were spoiled with love. I hope they can look back and these photos years down the road and remember the amazing memories from this perfect day.
I also cannot thank Zeyda enough for recommending me to Caressa & Kelly. Zeyda is an incredibly talented florist (The Little Fleur Co) that I met at a previous wedding that I photographed. I just loved how sweet she was and how I always saw her going above and beyond to take care of her couples. Pat & I are so thankful because absolutely LOVED working with Caressa & Kelly and we are grateful for the opportunity to document such a beautiful and special day in their lives.
Enjoy some of my favorites from their wedding day at the beautiful Lake Oak Meadows in Temecula!
