It was exactly three years ago…April 2014 when Pat and I were flying to Hawaii to photograph the beautiful wedding of Chrisell & Alex. They had a morning wedding and there was light, sprinkling showers but there was nothing that could rain on the love and joy these two shared on their wedding day! The skies cleared up and we had a couple hours in between the ceremony and the reception to take some bride and groom portraits!! Pat and I chauffeured the newlyweds around the island and would pull over on the side of the road to take photos at each gorgeous location we found. It was the most fun I’ve ever had during wedding day portraits!! I’ve always loved seeing how creative and stylish Chrisell is too. She even sewed her own wedding dress!! How is that possible? Well if anyone can do it, I knew Chrisell would be the one. She found a vintage wedding dress at a thrift store, tore it apart, added blush chiffon fabric and black tulle and kept the vintage lace emproidery on the top. She said the entire thing came out to less than $20 bucks!!

Well, three years later, we all ended up in Hawaii again. This time was for the wedding of one of Alex’s groomsmen! The wedding was absolutely amazing and perfect in every way (you’ll see soon…can’t wait to blog their photos this week!). But of course, since we were all in Hawaii again, we had to make sure to set up another photo session. We had a special guest this time, though. Alex and Chrisell now have a ridiculously handsome little boy! Their son, Weston, is the cutest little guy and (while he definitely made us work for those smiles) we got some super fun shots. :) He did great throughout the entire shoot, especially because he loves the water and was so intrigued by it the whole time. And guess what Chrisell wore? Another killer find from her thrift store treasure hunting!

In honor of our time together and such a fun family photo shoot – I thought it would only be fitting to post a few of my favorite photos from their wedding too, since they are celebrating 3 years of a beautiful marriage together!
