Pat and I got to photograph a very special family this week! I can’t believe it’s already been 5 years since I moved to San Diego and met these wonderful people. Pat grew up here and a lot of his friends and family live here as well, so when I moved to beautiful, sunny SD, he introduced me to a lot of his friends. One of them was Josh, who was dating Ghelenn at the time. They are now happily married with a beautiful baby girl! I’m so thankful to have Ghelenn as a friend for all these years! We’ve shared lots of fun memories together from girls trips to bachelorette parties to weddings and more! Another one was JR, who is Ghelenn’s brother. His wife, Carly and I got to play basketball together in some of the San Diego women’s basketball leagues. Don’t let her smile fool you – she has a mean jump shot and can outshoot anyone on the court! :) I miss those days hoopin together.

I was telling Pat after the photoshoot that their parents, Glenn and Ghemma are the most beautiful and fit grandparents ever! I loved seeing them with their adorable grand-daughters, Avahlenn and Malia. *Insert ALLL the heart eyes* They are SUCH sweethearts. Glenn actually just completed the Bodybuilding.com $250k Transformation Challenge that Pat did last year. We did his fitness photoshoot in April and his results were phenomenal; we were all so impressed by his transformation! Ever since Pat was in high school, Glenn has been organizing basketball tournaments and hoopin with the guys so this was so fun to finally get them all together in front of our camera.

And since basketball has been one of the things that has brought us together with this amazing family, I thought it was only fitting to hold their photoshoot at Montevalle Park, which is a recreational center where Pat sometimes plays basketball with Glenn, Josh and JR! We even brought our puppy-daughter, Nala along in hopes of getting a few smiles out of the little girls. It definitely worked for Malia! Both of these little cuties were so fun and did such an amazing job for the photoshoot. I can’t wait for the next family shoot down the road…maybe there will be even more babies next time! ;) We love you guys!!
