There are some people who come into your life and you instantly know that you were just destined to be friends! Emily and Dan are two of those people. The first time I met them was at a coffee shop to discuss the possibility of being their wedding photographer and I knew there was just something different about them. They were so incredibly sweet and I felt so comfortable around them. They made me laugh uncontrollably with their silliness and love of puns. Throughout their wedding planning process, we would meet up for sushi dates and I would keep in touch with Emily through text and email.

I was so excited when I found out we would all be making a road trip up to San Luis Obispo for their engagement photoshoot!! Dan, Emily, Pat & I all had a BLAST! We got to explore the beautiful venue where they would soon hold their special wedding day. If you have never been to Spanish Oaks Ranch, you definitely need to check it out…BREATH-TAKING! And Jamie (owner of the venue) is so fun to work with! We took engagement photos in front of the classic white picket fences, under the huge oak tree, on the cute little bridge and before we knew it…we had caught the last ray of golden light during sunset and the stars were shining bright. I was so excited to get those night time photos but since we couldn’t see much, I accidentally stuck my off-camera flash stand in some cow poop. Oy!!! haha…many memories were made that trip and we absolutely loved spending time with Dan and Emily.

Before we knew it, their wedding day was finally here! As if Emily isn’t already beautiful enough, the moment she put on that wedding dress, I literally could not believe how stunning she looked. Their vows were full of emotion, tears and laughter. I got a little teary eyed as they shared their love for one another in front of their loved ones. You know what I mean if you saw the highlight film of their memorable wedding day created by the talented Dax Victorino Films (Dax, Pao and Roman are so talented!). You could really feel the love as they were surrounded by their closest friends and family. Their wedding day was full of sooooo (yes the excessive ooo’s were necessary) many adorable little details! From the colorful bouquets by Noonans Designs, to the intricate hand-made invitations and creative animal seating chart by the talented bridesmaid, Chaz at Brylo Studio, to the “Hooray, Yay, Whoohoo” signs everyone held as the newlyweds were officially announced husband and wife for the very first time. Instead of cutting a cake, Dan and Emily opted to flambe some creme brulee! How fun!! Their day was full of so many special memories and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of it.

Dan & Emily – Thank you so much for coming into our lives and not just hiring us to be your photographers, but becoming great friends as well. We are so thankful for you both and can’t wait for our next double date. :) We love you guys!!! xoxo – Riss & Pat
