Lauren & Andrew | The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe Wedding

Apr 14, 2018

Charissa Magno Photography,

As we explored the romantic wedding venue with Kelsey Rae Designs & our lovely couple, we couldn’t help but count down the days until Lauren & Andrew’s wedding. Our bride-to-be explained every little detail with so much excitement as she told me her vision for their special day at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. Planning an outdoor wedding calls for imagination but I’m a big believer that it’s always worth it! Nothing beats that golden sunlight shining through or dancing under the string lights and starry night sky. I saw the gorgeous, spacious lawn and the blank canvas of an open air ceremony & reception space, eager to see what this stylish bride had been dreaming up.

Lauren & Andrew make the most adorable couple! They are so funny and down to earth and make everyone feel like their best friend. They met back in high school and you can read more about their love story on this engagement session blog post. (Their epic sun-kissed engagement session at the sand dunes was recently featured on Inspired by This!). I absolutely LOVE how Lauren saved the floral print strapless dress that she was wearing on that day she met the man who would one become her future husband. And what could be even more sweet and sentimental? She actually sewed a piece of that same dress into the lining of her absolutely stunning Hayley Paige wedding gown.

When Pat & I arrived to the venue in the morning of their wedding day, Lauren was relaxing in the bridal suite, happy as ever, getting her makeup done by the talented Makeup by Kandice (who left Lauren looking flawless)! She got her hair done by A Style Concierge and they made such a great team! During hair & makeup, Lauren wasn’t the only one who got to open a sweet card from her hubby-to-be. Her mom also received a card from Andrew. The front read, “Thank you for raising the woman of my dreams.” *insert tears & heart eye emojis* How incredibly thoughtful is that!?

Soon after, Lauren had one of her best friends deliver Andrew’s wedding gift, a stainless steel and yellow gold Movado watch. It went perfectly with his entire ensemble. Andrew looked so dapper and Lauren radiated with beauty as she was excited to finally see her groom. Prior to the wedding, they carefully contemplating whether or not they should do a first look, and I’m so happy they decided to share that special moment together. Their expressions were priceless and it really was so magical, especially because The Inn has this gorgeous long walk way lined with lots of greenery and flowers, which made for a perfect photo spot! And just when I thought I was spoiled enough, we got to sneak away to the nearby orchard for even more romantic portraits.

The bridal party later joined us and I absolutely loved getting this group in front of my camera. The bridesmaids looked stunning in their nude dresses and elegant floral crowns. I’m convinced they are all models! ;) Lauren’s beautiful bouquet definitely stole the show. Diamant of Blue Ladder Botany did an amazing job curating the florals and design vision, and made the entire space come to life with the garland greens and the lush ivory blooms.

What made this day extra special and unique was that it was a true expression of Lauren & Andrew as a couple. Since they have been together since they were 16, they’ve had a lot of time to develop their style and personalities as a couple and it reflected in so many parts of their day! Seeing their vision come to life was amazing and it was a true honor to be able to document such an incredible event.

Their wedding guests really enjoyed all the unique additions they included at their wedding, which made the entire day such a memorable experience. One special touch they had was bringing in an artist to do live watercolor paintings of the guests. Dianuh of Chasing Linen is not only talented, but also such a sweetheart! In addition, they had an acoustic guitarist cover songs from when they were in high school and first started dating (what a cute idea!). They had matching gold foil donuts and cake as well as a fun, mini donut bar for a late night treat. The fresh, warm donuts were a hit! Guests especially loved the cute, custom created “holy matrimony” donut bags.

Everyone had so much fun celebrating together and dancing the night away. I can’t imagine Lauren & Andrew’s wedding day going any smoother or more perfectly. Kelsey of Kelsey Rae Designs is a huge reason for that! She was so incredibly helpful and kept everyone on track. I also really loved working alongside Jason of Audrey Alba Films. His work speaks for itself and it was such a pleasure working with someone who is so great at what they do, but also very kind and team-oriented. I remember Lauren telling me how much thought and research she put into picking her team of wedding vendors and it really showed on the wedding day. I loved teaming up with these artists and I’m thankful I could document these special moments on their dream wedding day.

I’m so happy for Lauren & Andrew and I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from their elegant wedding at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe!
