I had been anxiously waiting for Liza & Adrian’s wedding day ever since their engagement session at Balboa Park and Sunset Cliffs. I really got to know them better and learn about their love story and see their vision for their wedding day! They would be getting married at The US Grant and all their wedding details they shared with me made me even more excited for the day to come.

Since moving to San Diego, this was my first time photographing a wedding at The US Grant and I can’t even tell you how much I love this venue!! When I began photographing weddings, I wasn’t always a huge fan of hotel weddings because there usually would be no natural light in the banquet rooms for the reception. But over time, I studied off-camera flashes and learned how to light dark rooms (while still giving it that natural look) with my equipment and that in itself has allowed me to be so much more comfortable and confident when photographing different wedding venues!

Any photographer will tell you that the light (whether natural light from the sun or off-camera lighting) plays such a huge part in getting great quality photos. So when I stepped into the bridal suite the morning of Liza & Adrian’s wedding, I was so excited to jump into photographing the day. There were so many windows and so much gorgeous light for me to photograph the getting ready details along with Liza & her beautiful bridesmaids. Her hair and makeup looked flawless (amazing job Jillian and Lizbeth!!) and the girls were so supportive and giddy all morning while they prepared for the fun day ahead.

This couple truly has amazing style and their wedding details and vision were perfectly brought to life by Korie of Bliss Events. I was so impressed with how positive and full of energy she was the entire day! It was such a joy working alongside her during Liza & Adrian’s wedding. I wanted them to have the best wedding day and walk away with priceless, unforgettable memories because they really do deserve it!

I’ve always loved when brides have long, cathedral length veils because I think it makes for a magical photo when it is blowing in the wind. Of course, this usually takes my professional “veil tosser” (my husband, Pat) running and executive the perfect throw then racing out of the photo. ;) One of Liza’s bridesmaids even helped me on a few of the tosses while we were outside & Pat was photographing reception details. That’s what I call team work! :) All in all, Liza & Adrian’s wedding day was perfect and I couldn’t be happier for them.
